Import

The Import subsystem (ICS.core) implements coreimport procedures used by Customs Administrations around the globe and coversall major importation areas.

As well as the standard import procedure, it can alsocarry out:

• inward processing of goods to bere-exported
• processing under Customs control
• temporary importation
• inward processing of goods to be re-imported

ICS.core providesfacilities to Customs Officers for approval of import requests, close follow upon the approved imports while they are being processed and completion of theimport procedures. In addition, the subsystem supports queries of categorisation,assessment of duties, calculation and registration of income paid or due to bepaid.

Moreover, it providesphysical and/or document examination suggestions based on risk assessment createdby an external risk management subsystem. The import subsystem can be easily adaptedto different national needs and is flexible in terms of interfaces to othersystems. For example, ICS.core interfaces with the Tariff subsystem to automateimport duties & taxes (Customs, Excise, Special Tax, VAT, GST, etc.)calculations.
