INTRASOFT International recognises that the capability to innovate and to bring innovation successfully to market is a determining factor of competitiveness. It is widely recognised -among both policy and market actors- that innovative activity is the foundation to improve the competitiveness of European industry and to enable Europe to master and shape future developments for economic growth and social welfare.

The omnipresent impact of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) that extends well beyond productivity gains, in addition to the rapid advances in scientific discovery and in various domains of economic activity, have accelerated the pace of innovation built-up and enhanced its economic impact. Furthermore, modern global challenges, addressing sustainability and environmental impacts, require the engagement of different disciplines to nurture truly global collaboration embracing the full spectrum of modern research methods for the analysis and tackling of complex, multidisciplinary problems. Solutions-oriented research is therefore mandatory in bringing academics and non-academics together as knowledge partners in networks of active collaboration and problem-solving, bringing the results of innovation practices faster to society and markets.

In particular, EU Research Programmes support the strengthening of Europe’s scientific and technology base with the purpose of ensuring global leadership in product, service and process innovation and creativity through ICT, while ensuring that ICT progress is rapidly transformed into benefits for Europe’s citizens, businesses, industry and governments.

For more than 20 years, INTRASOFT International actively contributes to the development of innovative pre-industrial products and services through its participation in EU Research Programmes. We possess a successful track record in managing large and complex collaborative research projects, implementing innovative research prototypes, and effectively communicating research results in Europe and beyond. Serving this mission, the Research and Innovation Development (RID) Department contributes to the strategic policy objective of enabling Europe to master and shape future developments in ICT, while sustaining the company’s leadership in ICT.

Research is conducted by in-house and associate consultants, in conjunction with prestigious universities and research institutions, and acclaimed industrial partners that ensure the articulation of emerging ICT trends into innovative and exploitable research outcomes. As a result, INTRASOFT International offers an interdisciplinary centre of competence on the effects, use and applications of ICT in our targeted markets with a medium to long-term agenda.

The RID Department works in close collaboration with other INTRASOFT teams, to bring technological and business innovation within the Group. The company continuously monitors new technological trends where RID is dealing with the development and assessment of innovative pre-industrial products and services. Starting in 2015, INTRASOFT International has taken a step further by investing even more in innovation and R&D both internally, but also through participation in venture capital funds and start-ups.

The RID Department of INTRASOFT International has participated in several research projects of FP5, FP6, FP7 and H2020 Programmes contributing with significant value in development activities such as:

  • software architecture and application design
  • application development
  • testing and integration
  • deployment of large-scale pilots and support of evaluation methods
  • commercialisation of research results
  • professional dissemination and awareness raising activities, further promoting research project results and mobilising networks of leading experts and policy influencers.
